Membership Websites Are Making Internet Marketers Rich

In the past eight to ten months, the Internet has seen an explosion in the number of membership websites. These websites offer a huge advantage over those one page or sales page marketing sites that primarily focus on selling a single product such as an educational eBook, software or audio/video item.

Not all subscribers need to pay for access to online membership sites; some are free but earn money for the owners in other ways. Some sites offer free training but may use Google Adsense links on the website to help monetize the site. Alternatively, they may provide the free training to entice a subscriber to purchase the software or other products that the site is focusing the training on.
Jason James says that, “Resistance to paying for services is gradually melting away.” He is finding, like many other Internet Entrepreneurs, that people are willing to pay for good content that they can use to further their own education and interests. Many well established online organizations and businesses are now offering “Premium” content to their free visitors for a price.
The explosion of free and fee-based online membership websites is expected to continue into the foreseeable future with 2007 looking to be a year when online marketers will earn hundreds of thousands of dollars from subscribers hungry to learn all they can.
